Raindrops on Roses

I’ll write for myself a lullaby
Something to delude me into believing
That the pain that I go through
Is fictional
And that the sun will rise tomorrow
Even when it wont

I’ll write for myself a lullaby
Which will glorify my pain
That I go through
Through the maze of thoughts
That I am unable to unravel

I will write for myself a lullaby
That will make me believe
That I am above everyone
That my pain is more pure
And more unique than
Everyone

I will write for myself a lullaby
Which will tell me that my path
Is not rosy
Because I am made
of tougher stuff
chartered specially by my destiny

I will write for myself a lullaby
To delude myself
Into believing
That I am above the rest
When all of my thoughts
are momentary and a lie
