Rejection

I have been rejected

By my parents who thought it best

To be earning than seeing me grow

By my friends who thought it better

To hang with each other than me

By my teacher who never learned my name

By my boyfriend who wanted me

To be him and not me

By my senior who wanted me to be them

And no me

By my lover who wanted the next one

and not a lawyer

And countless others who just dint take the time

to know me

And yet,

I have known love

From my parents who continue to prove me wrong

From my sister who is proud of me

From Mathematics 

From my friends, who are the light in my darkness

From my friends who hold my hand

From my senior who laughs at my jokes

From my lover who lets me hug him

From my books who patiently sit for me to pick them up

From so many others who don’t feel the need to reject me.
