to be there

To set the scene, think of Elizabeth in the Pride and Prejudice (2005) on her trip to the Lake Districts when she is at one point standing on the cliff. Take me there.

Standing on the precipice

Of this long mossy green cliff

With the endless sea before me

Meeting the dense dark clouds ahead

in the absentee sun’s glow.

I don’t know how to swim

Nor do I have wings for the flight

But with the wind rustling my hair

and swaying my dress

I am swimming and flying right now

Standing on this precipice
