please dont

The entire world is reeling over the fact that Queen Elizabeth, the longest reigning monarch, died yesterday at the age of 96. Today, the papers and news are filled with this news and with photos and memories of the late monarch and that of the new king. The Queen is Dead, Long live the King.

And today, my best friend lost her brother. Just like that, he felt breathless and then passed away. He dint even give anyone enough time to take him to the hospital or say their goodbyes or even stop for a second to consider what is the consequence of his breathlessness. He died. Here one minutes, gone the next. While my friend was driving her car to the hospital, possibly with frantic urgency to get him help which she could not give. Possibly with the belief that all will be well as soon as she will reach the hospital. He was declared dead on arrival. He is Dead. All what was is gone. No one is living long after him.

Its devastating, heartbreaking and yet unimaginable. He was unwell, but he got better every time. Every single time, he would get back on his feet. Maybe with reluctance, maybe with help, maybe with push and maybe because he hadn’t yet used up the count of his breaths which was to his account. He should have today too. He should have. He dint.

So while on one hand, everyone (or possibly a good major chunk of everyone) is lamenting the demise of the Queen, here we are, dumbstruck as to how to react to him being no more.
