United colors of Benetton
United colors of Benetton
The face of that dark skinned girl
Looking over from the hoarding board
With piercing blue eyes and light brown hair
With no expression and no smile anywhere
The face that looked deep into you
Yet was just a placard, an advertisement, a ruse
The eyes that followed wherever you went
As if always waiting for you to see her face
Yet it was only an advert for the brand it endorsed
To show the people unity, where none existed ever at all
Everyone can write a poem. But for it to have a deeper meaning, a meaningful subject, an insight, well, that is another thing altogether.
But there is also a saying, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Or in this case, meaning lies in the mind of the writer/ reader ;)
